Bollywood Actor Arjun Rampal, partner and brand ambassador of PokerHigh.com, is playing poker to raise money for small NGOs. According to a report, Rampal stated that “there was a big jump in the number of people who logged in to play [poker] during lockdown. We thought why not use this skillful game to recognize small NGOs.” .

The initiative is supporting NGOs such as the Pudhya Udhayam in Chennai, and the CUPA (service to animals) in Bengaluru and Humanity for Animals in Kochi. Rampal said that animal life is also important along with human life. A total of Rs 2.11 lakh was raised by PokerHigh, 72000 given to CUPA, which helped feed more than 150 dogs at the center for a month. 1.38 lakhs were received by the Pudhia Udhayam which helped provide dry ration to 500 families in Chennai.

Different teams are representing different charities, and players can choose which team to play for. He said, “This is our third month and we got players from all over India. Winners get what they win. Whatever stake the ‘bank’ holds, says Rampal, goes to the NGO.

Rampal signed on as the brand ambassador of PokerHigh.com in 2017. Commenting on his poker skills, Rampal said, “My game is decent. But there is room for improvement.”
