Goa Casino Operators Seeks Financial help from Government

The operators of three of the six floating casinos in India and Goa have reportedly called on the government to provide financial support to their firm to deal with the recession caused by the coronovirus epidemic.

Srinivas Naik of Casino Pride Group has written a letter to the authorities in New Delhi asking them to help firms such as provide him a three-year income tax holiday with a six-month exemption on business loan interest charges, the executive told the government the next six months to provide operators with free electricity and Internet access and cover all employee pension contributions for the period of the nation’s coronovirus related lockdown.

To reduce the total cost of operations and increase funding for disposal in the hands of the industry, the government should provide a tax holiday for at least three years [from the first day of April]. ”

Naik’s communication allegedly urged the government to ‘allow the industry to pay minimum allowances during the lockout period and the subsequent lockdown period of six months’.
