Illegal betting during an epidemic without sports

After months of inactivity due to coronovirus and lockdown, global sports programs are now emerging, although India’s game is yet to emerge. This is why illegal bookies have turned to coronovirus. The so-called ‘satta bazaar’ in Delhi is predicated on data related to coronovirus.

Illegal bookmakers detailed how they were now betting on statistics and data from the epidemic, including infection rates and mortality rates.

Large ceremonies including social, political, religious and sporting events were banned from March 25 due to a nationwide lockdown. During the first phase of the lockdown, people were betting when the restrictions would be lifted.

The validity of the bet on lockdown dates was usually set one day before the government’s announcement. A bookie from East Delhi reported that the interest in placing bets on Covid-19’s position in India due to postponement of sporting events was mainly due to the ease with which predictions were made on statistics.

Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava said that even though the police is busy, the forces were keeping an eye on such illegal networks. Police in Goa recently arrested eight people in a raid on a suspected online gambling den, proving that illegal bookies should keep an eye on the police.
