In Fantasy Sports engaged 5 million users due to lockdown

According to the press release, The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), the fantasy platform in the country, saw more than 5 million fans play between April and June due to the lockdown this year. The federation, which represents and self-regulates fantasy sports websites and apps, reported that more than 1,000 fantasy matches occurred.

These operators have removed the disappointment caused by the postponement of IPL cricket, new sports like baseball, handball and rugby. Live matches have been stopped in India and European football – including top competitions have resumed in the last few weeks.

Some FIFS members helped funds these tournaments by becoming sponsors.

With the sport resuming globally, most likely without an in-studio audience, digital fan engagement platforms such as Fantasy Sports will become critical in increasing deep fan engagement.
