Srinivas Forward his Suggestions to Gov. For Income Tax Break

As a result of the lockdown across the country, industries and companies are facing economic losses due to coronovirus. In view of this, Srinivas Naik, Director, Casino Pride, Goa, put forward his suggestions to help the tourism and leisure sectors sector.

In this letter, Naik proposed that the government should pay all contributions of EPF and ESIC from the Labor Welfare Fund of all employees along with a three-year income tax holiday. Naik described how tourism industries around the world have been devastated in the last few months and even the removal of travel restrictions will deter people from breaking up.

He pushed hotel chains to take aggressive steps in marketing and promotion with reduced room rates, free extras and better facilities.

He urged the authorities to “allow the industry to give its employees a minimum allowance allowance during the six-month lockdown period and post lockdown period.” The government should order employees, who are taking salaries during the lockdown, to remain with their company for at least six months until April 2021.

Naik has other demands that state governments should not charge MD for electricity for six months. Naik also called for financial service providers to provide working capital loans at a subsidized rate of interest.
